Large Mechanical Plate Custom Machining

Large plates are where a shop's handling and machining discipline show. A plate that has to stay flat over a metre cannot be treated like a small block: the setup, the supports and the order of operations all decide whether it comes out flat or banana-shaped.

We machine oversized plates, base plates and machine parts to print on our own three-axis CNC centres, with the crane and the floor space to handle large sections in-house.

Flatness and parallelism are the two figures that matter most on a large plate. We hold 0.02 mm / 100 mm on ground faces; above 600 mm the tolerance is agreed case by case with the drawing in front of us, and the figure is confirmed before the quotation is issued.
