Plastic Mold Frame
A frame ready for your cavity insert — supplied as a matched plate set that was never split.
A mold frame is the shell your cavity insert drops into. The important property is not any single dimension but the relationship between the plates: parallelism between the mounting faces, squareness of the datum, and the position of the pockets relative to the guide pillars.
We supply frames as matched plate sets — the plates are machined as a pair and stay together. We do not split a set to fill two orders, because a split set is how molds end up with a parting line that never closes cleanly.
Frames are machined from pre-hardened grades as standard (P20 family, 718 / 718H where the cycle count demands it), with the pocket layout, cooling and ejector pattern per your drawing.
If you are standardising on a frame for a product family, tell us — repeat sets are quoted against the same pattern, which keeps the second and third mold identical to the first.
