Special Steel Supply
The grade you need, supplied together with the base — so the steel and the machining come from one place.
Buying the steel separately is how projects end up with a plate that is the right grade and the wrong size, or a supplier's steel that arrives after the machine is already booked.
We machine the ten grades buyers most often specify — S50C (1.1730), P20 (1.2311 / 1.2312), forged P20, 718, 718H, 738, 738H, 4Cr13, 420H, S136H — and can supply the steel together with the base, so the material and the machining are booked as one job.
That matters for two reasons: the steel is bought for the size you actually need rather than the nearest stock size, and any question about the material goes to one party instead of two.
Confirm the grade on your drawing with the RFQ. Forged P20 is available where core strength matters more than the pattern cost.
